East End Events August 10, 2016

    Lots of people from our area took advantage of the opportunities they had to enjoy the county fairs in Prowers, Cheyenne, or Greeley Counties this past week.  Our grandson Kyle and I went to Tribune Saturday evening for the Ice Cream Social and parade.  Well, it rained on our parade - sheets of rain for about an hour.  They received around 2".  We had .6 in Towner and it was certainly welcome.

   Welcome to Kourtney Richards who has moved back to Eads from Idaho where she worked as a nurse in a large hospital.  Her two sons and daughter are looking forward to starting school in Eads.   They enjoy times with their grandmothers, Karen Krueger and great grandmother, Hazel Krueger.

A Day in the Life August 3, 2016

Calves.  Described by Google as “baby cows”.  They could also be baby elephants, baby seals or baby whales.  I call them Bread and Butter.  The calves we have on this little corner of the “wide open spaces” provide us the opportunity to pay the bills.  And buy new shoes...and Starbucks.  Dustin takes great pains in caring for them.  Each one of them.  Every day. Them and their mothers.

Day to Day with Doris August 3, 2016

I Chronicles 7:4  “If My people, which is called by My name, humble themselves, and pray, and see My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land.”
     Charlene Blakely, long time Librarian at the County Library was hosted with a “going away” reception at the Library one afternoon before she moved.  Charlene is moving to the Denver area to be near her granddaughters and their parents.  She will surely be missed about town, at her church and other activities.

East End Events July 27, 2016

    Dick and I had a pleasant surprise Friday morning when Marvin Hamilton stopped by to visit with us.  Marvin and his wife Linda were teachers at Plainview School before they retired and moved to Gunnison, CO.  Linda had shoulder surgery three weeks ago, so she isn't traveling yet.  We really had a nice visit with Marvin.
