July 4, 2019 will mark the third annual 4th of July Kids’ Parade hosted in Eads, CO by a group of parent volunteers. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at the East end of City Park between the park and the courthouse. The parade will start at 10 a.m. at the West end of City Park. The parade route will be North down Maine Street, East on 12th street in front of Crow’s Stop & Shop Grocery Store, South on Goff in in front of the Kiowa County Abstract office, and then finish at the park for more festivities.
This year, in addition to the numerous activities for kids from years past, we have some new and fun things for the kids including an inflatable obstacle course, water gun war area, a barrel train, an infant toddler area, a water slide, a slip-n-slide, carnival games, a craft table, face painting, free snow cones, and a picture booth.
New this year will also be a free community hot dog lunch offered from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. while supplies last. This includes chips, drinks, and cupcakes. We will also be hosting an adult corn-hole tournament that will start at 10:30 a.m. This is $30 a team to play and the winner will receive half of all the money we raise. You can register at the parade or in advance by getting ahold of one of the board members: Laura Bybee, Riki Cordova, Jami Lane, and Violet Sneyd.
In addition, there will be a contest for Mr. and Mrs. 4th of July! The winners of this will be based on how creative their sidewalk vehicle is decorated as well as their outfit! There will be prizes for the winners as well. We love seeing how patriotic our community can be!
We as volunteers love hosting this event for our wonderful community and can’t thank the sponsors enough for all the generous donations that allows this event to be possible and able to grow every year. We look forward to many more years to come!
