Eads Gearing Up to Welcome Home Alumni

Since the first graduates of Eads High School including Beulah Schriner Barnes, Ruby Blair Whitelaw, and Marion Smith Wimp crossed the stage and received their high school diplomas, hundreds of graduates from Eads High School have followed suit.  This year marks the 100th Anniversary of Eads High School, which makes it special enough; but even more special is the fact that the graduates are coming home.

The All School Reunion committee has been working for months on the homecoming that will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2017.  According to Kim Crow Richards, one of the organizers, plans are being confirmed and the final reservations are being received.

Richards estimates about 450 alumni will be attending the event which will be held at the Eads High School Gymnasium at 6:00 pm on Saturday.  The event is in conjunction with the annual Kiowa County Fair & Rodeo.

Richards indicates that after the parade on Saturday, registration will begin at Eads High School in the multi-purpose room. Attendees will have all day to register and pick up your packets until 5:30 that evening.  Packets will contain the traditional book of graduates and addresses, name tags, and a special 100-year celebration gift.

There will be an order form at the registration table for 100th year celebration t-shirts. The doors will close at 6:00.  Catering will be by Troy's Bar-Be-Que from Woodrow, Colorado with Smoked Beef, Green Beans, Tossed Salad, Baked Potato, dinner roll and dessert on the menu.

After dinner the program will begin. Kas Fischer Stewart, a 1965 graduate, will be our MC for the evening.  After the program, everyone is encouraged to go on down to Maine Street to enjoy live music and the beer garden while you continue to enjoy the evening with old friends.

The alumni committee is happy to field your questions so please contact Nancy McCracken Walker, Marty Miller, Verna Kelley Ebright, or Kim Crow Richards for any assistance.
