In a beautiful country setting on Wray Ranch east of Wray, Colorado, the nuptials of Jordan Rebecca Barnett of Eads, Colorado and Brady Patrick Buck of Wray, Colorado were made on July 6, 2019 with pastors Lane and Deborah Gooden of Eads, Colorado officiating.
Under a grove of towering cottonwoods with an amazing vista of trees, steep bluffs and a vast blue sky, a large collection of friends and relatives came together to honor the striking couple on their wedding day.
The bride wore a beautiful ivory dress designed by Watters with a fitted satin bodice and flowing soft tulle skirt. Her ‘something old’ included the garter made from her grandmother’s (Germaine Price Legg) wedding dress from 1955 that was also worn by her mother (Betsy Legg Barnett) in 1982. Her ‘something new’ was a stunning set of earrings given to her by sister-in-law and Matron of Honor, Whitney Barnett. The ‘something borrowed’ included her mother's silver bracelet, her ‘something blue’ was her beautiful blue suede shoes. The groom was quite handsome in a black tuxedo, crisp white shirt, and black bow tie.
The wedding party included nine bridesmaids and groomsmen. The bridesmaids all wore varying designs of long taupe dresses from the company Show Me Your Mumu with the Matron of Honor and sister-in-law Whitney Barnett of Eads, Colorado, wearing a taupe one-shoulder dress with an ivory lace overlay. The groomsmen all wore black tuxedos with white shirts and black bow ties. The bridesmaids were: Lauren Foster (Arvada, Colorado), teammate of the bride at GCCC; Carly Juve (Denver, Colorado), law-school friend of the bride; Allison Buck McGehee (Colorado Springs, Colorado), childhood friend and classmate of the bride; Sarah Barnett (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma), sister-in-law of the bride; Tish Worton ( Philadelphia, PA), teammate of the bride at Monmonth University; Annie Warsofsky (Denver, Colorado), law-school friend of the bride; Molly Buck (Denver, Colorado), sister of the groom; Jennifer Chonka (Golden, Colorado), teammate of the bride from GCCC. The best men were Coby Buck (New York, NY), brother of the groom and Baylor Buck (Wray, Colorado) brother of the groom. Groomsmen included Will Johnson (Westcliff, Colorado), cousin of the groom; Jarret Cure (Wray, Colorado), childhood friend of the groom; Myles Johnson (Idalia, Colorado), cousin of the groom; Erik Graber (New York, NY), Pike fraternity brother at Duke University; Charles Johnson (Kit Carson, Colorado), cousin of the groom; Jamie Unger (Yuma, CO), friend of the groom; Brad Johnson (Kit Carson, Colorado) cousin of the groom.
The four flower girls were adorable in their matching ivory tulle and lace dresses. They were Reese Barnett, niece of the bride; Romy Hoyt, friend of the bride; Collins Livsey, cousin of the groom; and Dylan Barnett, niece of the bride. The two ring bearers wore black tuxedos, white shirts, and black bow ties. They were William Barnett, nephew of the bride; and Luke Barnett, nephew of the bride.
Special guests at the wedding included Polly Johnson (Kit Carson, Colorado), grandmother of the groom; Rex and Jody (Johnson) Buck (Wray, Colorado) parents of the groom; William and Lucy Barnett (Eads, Colorado) grandparents of the bride; Marty and Betsy Barnett (Eads, Colorado), parents of the bride; Dolores Rector (Eads, Colorado) great-aunt of the bride; Kyle Barnett (Eads, Colorado) brother of the bride; Dain Barnett (Oklahoma City, OK), brother of the bride; Chad Barnett (Eads, Colorado), brother of the bride.
The ceremony music was performed by Lexi Uhland (Eads, Colorado) on the violin and Breanna Echols (Kit Carson, Colorado) on the guitar. Music selections included Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles, as the grandparents and parents entered the ceremony and Canon in D to welcome the wedding party. The bride was then escorted down the aisle to the beautiful sounds of Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley. After vows were shared by the couple, a special reading of [i carry your heart with me (i carry it in)] by E.E. Cummings was given by Colleen Kelley, Monmouth teammate of the bride.
The reception was held in the beautiful Red Willow on Main events center and Tumbleweed Brewery in Yuma, Colorado. A large crowd of 260 guests enjoyed a number of entertaining speeches from Coby Buck, Baylor Buck, Whitney Barnett, and Molly Buck. The beautiful cake was created by Paula Snell from Yuma, Colorado. The bride and groom started off the dancing with an enchanting dance to Stone by Whiskey Myers. The traditional father/daughter dance was danced to Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. Finally, I Say a Little Prayer by Dionne Warwick was chosen for the mother/son dance. Once the party began, the large contention of family and childhood friends, as well as those friends from Monmouth University, Duke University and the Colorado University Law School, enjoyed the music provided by MC Entertainment.
The décor at the ceremony and reception was provided by Chelsea Davis of Eads, Colorado. The artistic signage was created by Jody Buck, mother of the groom. Stunning photography was provided by Chelsea Higgins of Chelsea Dawn Weddings from Janesville, Iowa and assisted by Jamie Laracy of Waverly, Iowa. The bride’s makeup and hair were provided by Autumn Bancroft of The Parlour on Rose in Burlington, Colorado. Videography was done by Reagan Lynn Films of Norman, Oklahoma.
