Plainview Celebrates Homecoming Against Weskan

     Hawks fans were excited to see their Plainview Hawks back on the gridiron after a number of years of absence from preps football.  Last week Plainview was able to have a successful Homecoming celebration as they hosted Weskan (KS) JV team on Monday afternoon.  Despite the terrible winds on that day the fans were treated to a good game with Weskan getting the win, 28-13. 
The Plainview Volleyball team also saw action during Homecoming losing 3-0.

Rocky's Selna Medina Defeats Lamar, 8-1, in District Final

     The Lamar Savages (13-6, 10-2 league) could not figure out Rocky Ford’s (18-1, 12-0 league) hurler Selena Medina for a second time this season as the senior gave up only two hits to Lamar in the District finals on Thursday winning 8-1 at the Savages’ home field.  Medina is huge for the Lady Meloneers as she not only carries one of the best ERAs in the state at 1.44, but she also has 15 wins under her belt using 99 strike outs to get there.  In addition, the senior leads the way for Rocky with the bat hitting at a .466 average with 27 hits and 30 RBIs.

Kit Carson Teams Stay Perfect; Will Travel to Eads on Friday

     The Kit Carson Wildcat teams continue to steamroll their way through the 2016 fall season as the Volleyball team grabbed four victories over the week, including a tournament championship and staying perfect on the season. The Wildcats on the gridiron are also perfect as the football team defeated Branson/Kim in a conference win, 56-33.

Lamar Softball Takes the Broom to Dolores Huerta; Prepares for Rocky

     The 3A preps softball regular season is quickly winding down and Lamar is performing well hoping to peak this week when they host Rocky Ford on Thursday at 6:30 pm in the last game of the regular season.  Rocky is sitting on top of the league after beating Lamar, 10-0, a couple of weeks ago, but the Lady Savages hope this next meeting in Lamar will sway their way.
