This Tender Land is a novel based on much research of the Depression, US history, and Indian Schools, some dating back to the days of Abe Lincoln. Krueger’s research about the Great Depression and the 1930s gave him a candid look at life of many Americans at that time.

Just published in October, Celeste Ng’s third book is again another Reese’s Book Club pick. I read her second novel, Little Fires Everywhere in 2018 and still remember it.
