Well, hello there you wandering wind
You are back my old friend
You’ve returned after all these years
Whispering yearnings in my ears
I wonder now where have you been
And why it is you’re back again
Painting memories on my mind
That wander, twist and turn and wind
And why is it you now start
Pulling, tugging on my heart
Whispering music in my ear
Wandering songs I long to hear
And the things I hear you say
Remenber how back in the day
You would follow where I’d blow
You and I the two would go
Together we would know the thrill
Of what lay beyond the next hill
Wandering where the spirit led
Dreaming of what lay ahead
Memories take me back in time
Much like walking through a rhyme
It seems to be the way it goes
When it’s the wandering wind that blows
I tell the wind as I’ve told before
I’ll not wander anymore
You may have to continue to blow
But I myself will no longer go
Those days are now long past
And now I have wandered my last
Then I awaken from my dreams
The wind has ceased so it seems
Then there’s a whispering in my ear
I’m still here, I’m still near
Blowing breezes tempting, taunting
What is it that you are wanting
At least, that’s the view here from behind the grindstone.
