Have you ever experienced a moment when what you’ve always known you were supposed to do came to life? That moment was November 17, 2024, for me. I had the honor of sharing my music with the people in Eads, CO at The Plains Theater that night. I’ve always known I was meant to play music, but I didn’t really have a picture of what that would look like for me. Although it wasn’t my first rodeo, it was my first solo ride–which is a different thing entirely. I consider myself very fortunate to not have played music without a full band for more than 3 or 4 songs. Much to my surprise, I wasn’t nervous. I wasn’t anxious. I never doubted I could do it. But I did wonder if anyone would bother to come and listen to my songs.
I’m not really that well known as an artist, and I don’t have very many songs released yet so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was overwhelmed with gratitude when so many had chosen to spend their time with me that night. I’ve always known I was born to play music but now, after that night, I believe it. They say all you need is one person to believe in you, and you can achieve anything. Oftentimes, that person is yourself. And sometimes you won’t believe you can achieve something until you go out there and try it. But, in this case, I have a whole team of people who believe in me, and came together to help make that night so amazing, and I have to thank them all for making the event so special to me.
So, to Betsy Barnett, thank you for asking me to put a show together, and I thank you and the other members of the CLCEC for giving me the opportunity to share my music from your stage. To Merena Lowe, thank you for your outstanding hospitality. And to my friends and family, James Echols for putting up with my countless hours of practice and helping me put my setlist together.
Kenneth and Theresa Echols for running sound for me. Daniel Echols, and Scott Nyman for helping load and unload the equipment, including my mini grand piano. Haniah and Maciah Nyman for helping me with my wardrobe and selling the merch.
I feel so very blessed to have so many people around me who believe in me enough to make these dreams of mine possible. I pray God honors and blesses each one of you for the impact you have made in my life. You poured oil on this fire of mine, and I’m so thankful for each one of you. I am truly grateful, thankful, and so blessed.
