One of the highlights of last week was the annual CO-OP Community Dinner for people who enjoy the wonderful services and supplies that we can buy there at Eads Consumers Supply. Many people purchase their vehicle gas at the local Hometown Gas & Grill on the highway or have a gas card to fill up their tanks at the former C-Store site.
Tracey Weeks hosted a Tea Time reception for Veterans and their families and friends last Memorial Day on Monday at the Wild Cat Corner on Main and Highway 287 that was well attended. The guests enjoyed an array of doughnuts and beverages.
Monday September 12th was a special day for all the students at Eads and Kit Carson schools when men and women from Cheyenne Wells, Kit Carson, and Eads representing the VFW—Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3411 and the VFW Auxiliary presented a 9-11 program about respect and care of the flag of the United States of America. The Colorado State Fair began in Pueblo on Friday, August 26, but many exhibitors, 4-H members, FFA members, vendors and Extension Agents have been working and serving at the State Fairgrounds all last week. Alexa Nelson spent several days there as a senior 4-H member helping, after the projects were judged, to display them.
The Eads Senior Citizens who attended the monthly March noon meal and meeting last week enjoyed the delicious corned beef, potato and carrot entrés. Gail Voss said that it took ten hours to cook the meat.

Inside my home our guests enjoyed a turkey dinner with many side dishes, delicious pies and a basket of little gifts and banana breads all wrapped and prepared by my friend Liz Hulteen.
