EVELYN GARNER takes civic pride to a whole new level.  As a resident of Prairie Pines she is instrumental in keeping their outside gardens in tip-top shape.

But even more than that, citizens driving on Maine Street in Eads continue to be amazed at this 93-year-old feisty lady sitting on the sidewalks in front of businesses landscaping the tree wells!  Yes, Mrs. Garner has worked nearly every evening this summer taking out the excess dirt and trash in the tree wells and replacing it with decorative rock.  And what a difference she’s made.  Mrs. Garner will turn 94 on August 29th.
