It’s amazing to think about, but the first quarter of school has been completed at the Eads School District. Report cards have gone out, parent conferences (virtually for the most part) have occurred, and the students and teachers are settled into a routine that has been successful and promising.
This year the school is really trying to focus on the positive things that the students are doing. This past week the school recognized and awarded achievement and good citizenship. First, the 3rd grade through 5th grade cohort students who met their Reading Counts goals for the first quarter were recognized and awarded with an ice cream party. Elementary Principal Glenn Smith served the happy children who learned that success comes to those who work hard. Also, the fourth-grade class has established a Student of the Month Award. This award is voted on by the students themselves. According to their teacher, Chelsea Davis, “Each month the class will select a deserving fourth grader who exemplifies all the qualities of a good citizen, displays kindness, academic excellence and is a friend to others.” The September Student of the Month was Reese Barnett.
