Xcel Energy Colorado’s Power Pathway public open house
Xcel Energy continues to make progress on identifying route options for Colorado’s Power Pathway, a project that will improve the electric grid and enable future renewable energy interconnections around the state and is inviting the public to attend upcoming open houses on Thursday, November 11 to learn more about the project and provide feedback. The first open house is at The Heritage Center in Crowley from 9 to 11 a.m. The second is scheduled at 5 to 7 p.m. at the Plains Theater in Eads.
Xcel Energy has identified focus areas, which are smaller areas within each segment study area where the preferred transmission route and substation sites could be located. Project staff will be available to provide information and answer questions. They are also interested in learning more from the public about any issues that should be considered as they move forward with Colorado’s Power Pathway plan.
There will not be a formal presentation and the public is encouraged to attend at any time during the open house.
More information is posted at ColoradosPowerPathway.com and an electronic comment form is available for those who cannot attend the public open house.
Note about COVID-19: Xcel Energy continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation in the region. If local, state, or corporate guidance prevents in-person meetings or affects the number of attendees allowed at any one time these open houses may be rescheduled or moved to an online format. We may also adjust the format to manage these considerations. Please check ColoradosPowerPathway.com or call the project hotline at 855-858-9037 for up-to-date information.
