The Crow-Luther Cultural Events Center is excited to present the Missoula Children’s Theater for the second year. Last year in 2022, in their first attempt of bringing a children’s theater production to Eads, the participants and community were thrilled with the results of The Jungle Book. The opportunity to participate in this year’s children’s theater, a musical production based on the story of RAPUNZEL, is coming up fast.

The audition for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of RAPUNZEL will be held on Monday, June 5 at 10:00 AM at the Plains Theater in Eads. There are roles for those students Kindergarten through 12th Grade. Approximately 50-60 area students, including from towns nearby, will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Director. Up to 4 students will be cast as Assistant Directors. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. Students wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled starting time (10:00 am) and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 15-minutes after the audition.

This is a group audition–no advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts. Students should just be ready to come and have a good time!

Rehearsals will be conducted every day from 10:00 AM-12:15 PM and from 12:30 PM-2:30 PM at the Plains Theater in Eads located at 1304 Maine Street and across the street in the Eads Senior Citizen’s Center located at 1305 Maine Street. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role and be available for all scheduled performances. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition. Cast members scheduled for the full 4 hours and 15 minutes will be asked to bring a sack lunch, dinner or snack to be eaten during the 15-minute break between sessions.

Two performances of the musical RAPUNZEL will be held on Friday, June 9 at 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm and will be presented at the Plains Theater in Eads.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. This coming year more than 65,000 cast members across the globe will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, community, neighbors and teachers! The residency in Eads is made possible by Crow-Luther Cultural Events Center with help from CWC Rail, Inc.
