The “30 x 30 Land Grab” initiative is an international agenda to permanently protect, in its natural state, 30 percent of the world’s lands and oceans by 2030. The program was launched in America by Joe Biden through Executive Order (EO) 14008 on January 27, 2021.
The EO’s Section 219 sets the goal of “protecting” at least 30% of the nation’s land and water by 2030. This is commonly called the “30 x 30 Land Grab”. Under “protection” means putting this land and water (mostly land) off limits to any productive use in perpetuity.
To accomplish this goal, the federal government will have to buy up millions of acres of private land. And they will have to do this through eminent domain or other pressures on landowners making them “willing sellers” of their property.
This unthinkable Section 219 does NOT just affect farmers and ranchers, but it affects everyone. Any land “grabbed” by the government in the “30 x 30 Land Grab” will be off limits to skiers, hikers, bikers, hunters, fishermen, campers, anyone doing anything in nature.
If you are wondering how the program may impact your business, your livelihood and your property rights, plan to be present at the Thursday Education Night Talk (TEN Talk) at the Grand Theater in Rocky Ford on Thursday evening, September 15, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. The presentation is FREE, and open to the public. Margaret Byfield, the Executive Director of the American Stewards of Liberty will be the featured speaker.
Margaret is a natural resource policy expert who speaks nationwide on property rights issues. She was raised on a large cow/calf operation in Central Nevada, and the ranch became the subject of the landmark takings case, Hage v United States. Margaret has over 30 years of experience helping landowners, companies, and local and state governments protect the productive use of the lands that fuel local economies.
Additionally, Rocky Ford FFA Member, Alyssa Hancock, will present her Colorado State FFA Award-winning speech on the topic of the “30 x 30 Land Grab”.
The presentation is FREE and open to the public. Concessions will be sold before the presentation. The “30 x 30 Land Grab” presentation is hosted by the Otero County Republican Women.
