To the Editor,
My name is Zachary Anderson, and I appreciate the chance to share a bit about myself and my connection to Cheyenne County. I was raised in Greeley, Colorado, where sports played a major role in my upbringing. They taught me how to work with others, stay disciplined, and keep pushing when challenges arise — lessons that helped lead me into college football and continue to guide me today. My parents instilled in me strong morals and a deep Christian faith, shaping the way I approach work, service, and relationships.
In 2020, my wife accepted a position as the first‑grade teacher at Cheyenne Wells Elementary School, and we made the move to this community. Over the past six years, we have come to truly love this place and are committed to planting our roots here. The character, resilience, and neighborliness of Cheyenne County are qualities we value deeply.
For nearly three years, I have had the privilege of serving on the Cheyenne Wells Town Council. It has been an honor to work alongside others who care about the future of our town. One project I’ve been involved in is the development of a new splash pad at the town park — a small example of how collaboration can help our community grow while preserving what makes it unique.
As part of my continued commitment to Cheyenne County, I am running for County Commissioner for District 2 this fall as an unaffiliated candidate. My intention is to contribute positively to the place my wife and I are proud to call home. I believe in transparency, honesty, and doing the work necessary to fully understand issues before making decisions. I am young, energetic, hardworking, and motivated, and I care deeply about the well‑being of this county and its people.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I look forward to continuing to serve and support Cheyenne County in meaningful ways.
Sincerely,
Zachary Anderson
