The Eastern Colorado Historical Society has been very busy educating the public this summer. They have presented to the public during the Cheyenne County Tumbleweed Fair and Rodeo about the Olsen-Chubbuck Archaeology Dig in Cheyenne Wells. They also researched and posted on their Facebook page regarding a lonely old headstone found in Cheyenne County and the events surrounding his demise.

Now the Eastern Colorado Historical Society is hosting a fundraiser, Treasures in your Attic and Antique Car Show, offering the community and surrounding areas a chance to get an idea what their treasures are worth and view a few antique vehicles. The event happens on October 24, 2026 beginning at 10 AM-2:00 PM. Participants can bring their treasures to the Town of Cheyenne Wells City Auditorium for a verbal appraisal of their items. Tickets are available for $10 for the 1st item and $5 for each additional item they would like appraised. A pulled pork lunch will be served for an additional $10. Pre-ticket sales are available and encouraged by calling a member of the Eastern Colorado Historical Society. There is a flyer posted on their Facebook page for more information on how to receive a ticket. All proceeds will go towards the Eastern Colorado Historical Society’s mission statement to educate the public and preserve the history of Cheyenne County.
