Obituary: Dennis “Denny” Roy Igou

Dennis “Denny” Roy Igou, 69 of Stuart passed away at his home on April 15th 2024.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2024 at the Pittsburg County Expo Center officiated by Eric West.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Roger and Leonda Shields, John and Beth Bain, Timmy and Tonya Rogers, Jay and Micki Akard, Ferrell and Rhonda Cunningham, Wade and Tina Davis, JD and Heather Godwin, Zane and Kelsey Goode, Alan and Donetta Murdaugh, Billy and Kris Stewart, Mike and Jeana Weeks, Eric and Pam West, Quinton and Karen Yarbrough and Charles and Connie Tipton.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to National Future Farmers of America Foundation or NAMI of Oklahoma.

Cremation Arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral service and Crematory.

He was born on September 6, 1954 in Eads, Colorado. His parents Charles and Lola (Stone) Igou, raised him alongside his 2 sisters.

Dennis married the love of his life Terri Nordick on February 14, 1977. They began their 47 years together, creating a wonderful life with their 3 children and living on the Shaffer ranch. In 1983, after hearing about a ranch for sell from a friend’s brother that was in Stuart, Dennis laid down permanent roots to begin his dream of owning his own ranch. Dennis’s perseverance, blood and sweat along with help from family, friends and community enabled him to create a legacy.

He served many years on the Board of Directors of Farm Credit Services of East-Central Oklahoma and was widely known around many communities. He enjoyed sitting around the Stuart Farm & Ranch with his lifelong friends just shooting the breeze. He instilled his “go get it done” attitude in his children and grandchildren.

He was very proud of all their accomplishments.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Igou; special friends, Leon Adams, Dick Hartsfield, Leon McNutt and Harlon and Pearl Hull.

Dennis is survived by his wife Terri of the home; children Brandon Igou and wife, Shelly of Ashland, Lacie Weiher and husband, Brian of McAlester, Dr. Hans Igou and wife, Jenny of Ada; grandchildren, Haili Igou, Hayden Weiher, Paige Igou, Nolan Weiher, Adria Igou, and Weston Igou; mother, Lola Igou; sisters, Nikki Adams and husband, Marty; Roz Hadley and husband, John; numerous extended family and friends.
