Eads Majors Undefeated in Lamar League Play

On Wednesday, June 12 the battle of the undefeated in the Lamar 12U Majors League met up in Lamar and Eads came away with a big 18-0 win over the AVF – Lamar Orange team.

Eads also took care of Granada on Monday night, June 10 at the Eads field, 16-1.

Eads is now 8-0 in the league while AVF-Lamar Orange moved to 6-1.

Eads: 16, Granada: 1

Chael Cordova drove in six runs on two hits to lead the Eads Majors over Granada, 16-1. Cordova hit a grand slam over the Eads left field fence in the first inning scoring four runs, singled in the second inning scoring one, and walked in the third inning scoring one more run.

Granada opened up the scoring in the top of the first inning after Johvanni A. doubled, scoring one run.

In Eads’ at-bat in the bottom of the first inning the crew scored five runs on two hits, including Cordova’s blast over the fence, taking a 5-1 lead.

Eads scored five more runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Brantley Buller started the at-bat by hitting a solo home run to left field. An error scored another run, Jaxon Bohlander singled, scoring one run, and Cordova singled, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the third inning Eads scored six more runs on three hits. Garrett Hainer hit into a fielder’s choice that scored one, Liam Eder grounded out, but score one run, Cordova drew a walk, bringing in a run, and Buller singled, scoring two.

Eder got the start on the hill for Eads getting the win in two full innings of work giving up 2 hits and no earned runs, walked none, and struck out 3 Granada batters.

Eads used three more pitchers in the contest including Jaxon Bohlander who work through an inning giving up no hits, no runs, no walks, and struck out three. Mason Sierra put in an inning of work on the mound giving up no hits, no runs, walked one, and struck out one. Will Barnett closed the door for Eads in one inning of work giving up no hits, no runs, walked one, and struck out two Bobcats.

For Granada Daxson R. too the loss giving up 4 hits, 5 earned runs, 3 walks and struck out zero. Two other pitchers put in work for Granada including Johvanni A. and JJ G.

Granada had two hits including a hit from Alan R. and Johvanni A.

For Eads, who scattered nine hits around the field, it would be Cordova leading the way going 2-for-2 with 6 RBIs and scored one run utilizing a first inning grand slam.

Bohlander was 2-for-2 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Buller was 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Quinn Britten was 1-for-1 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored.

Sierra went 1-for-3 scoring 2 runs.

Eder was 0-for-3 with one walk, two RBIs, and one run scored.

Barnett walked 3 times and scored 3 runs.

Eads: 18, AVF-Lamar Orange: 0

Chael Cordova’s bat was still hot on Wednesday as he led Eads against the AVF-Lamar Orange team, 18-0, driving in four runs on three hits. Cordova tripled in the first inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the fourth inning, scoring two more runs.

Eads scored four runs in the top of the first inning after an error scored one run, Cordova’s triple scored two more runs, and another error scored the fourth run of the inning.

Liam Eder grounded out to score one more run in the top of the second leaving the score at 5-0.

The top of the third inning saw Eads score three runs when Buller walked with bases loaded scored one run, Garrett Hainer’s fielder’s choice scored another run, and Sierra’s fielder’s choice scored one more.

Eads added six more runs in the top of the fourth inning. Quinn Britten was hit by a pitch with bases loaded, brining in one run, Hainer singled, scoring two runs, Sierra hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run, and Cordova singled, scoring two runs.

Eads added three more runs in the top of the fifth inning.

Buller got the win on the hill working through 2 innings and giving up just one hit, no runs, walked one, and struck out 5 batters.

Eads utilized three more hurlers in the final three innings with Chael Cordova coming in for one inning and giving up no hits, no runs, no walks and striking out two. Madyx Hough came in the fourth inning giving up no hits, no runs, walked two, and struck out one. Eder closed the door for Eads in one inning of work giving up no hits, no runs, walked one, and struck out two.

AVF-Lamar-Orange used six different pitchers throughout the game with Rhet S. taking the loss.

Eads had just 8 hits in the high-scoring contest but walked 12 times and was hit by the pitch twice. Once they got on base, they stole 17 bases with Buller having 4 steals, Hough added 3 steals, Cordova, Hainer, Eder, and Barnett added two steals apiece, and Bohlander and Sierra each grabbed one stolen base.

Cordova was 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs.

Bohlander went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.

Hough was 1-for-2, walked three times, and scored 3 runs.

Britten was 1-for-2 with one walk, one RBI, and scored 2 runs.

Hainer went 1-for-3 with one walk, three RBIs, and scoring 2 runs.

Eads collected 15 RBIs in the contest including one by Eder, one by Barnett, and one by Buller.
