David was born on November 7, 1954, in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, to Bob and Wanda (Hull) Ross. He grew up working alongside his dad and siblings at Ross’ Super. He graduated from Cheyenne Wells High School in 1973, shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp as a Military Police Officer for 18 months. David then returned to Colorado where he worked in the oilfield as derrickman and then changed position and started running a hot oil truck for Pelco. He then needed another change and started for the Town of Cheyenne Wells in the early 1990’s and worked there for 17 years. Then his dream job came along, and he went to work for C&L Sanitation on the trash truck. He retired in 2019 and you could find him watching his westerns and hanging with his cat Roy.
He married Elizabeth Gibbs on July 26, 1980, and together they had one child, Melissa Ross.
